stuff

Here's a few more pictures of things we've been up to.

Building an igloo while we studied about the Inuit.
Going roller skating with some of our friends. I forgot to take pictures while we still had the skates on, but they were the old four-wheeled saktes, not roller blades. We had so much fun!!
And going our for coffee afterwards.

Grace worked so hard on her Club car this year. Originally she was thinking about making it in the shape of a horse but we realized that would be way too hard so she decided to just paint it green for grass and make it the horse's pasture. She built a fence out of popsicle sticks and glued one of her toy horses on it.
She won first prize for design - way to go Gracie!!

Recital time

Here are a few pics of Evan and Grace at their music recital in February. They are both in Music For Young Children lessons, where they learn piano as well as doing some singing, rhythm instruments, solfege, and other things. I like MYC because the lessons are parent participating so I am learning along with them (and wishing I hadn't given up on piano lessons when I was younger.)
Grace's class singing their song together
We have a different MYC teacher this year and she requires each child to introduce themselves before playing their pieces on the piano, which is something last year's teacher did not ask. Any of you who know Grace at all, understand that this was a huge deal for her. When we first found out that she was going to have to talk in front of everyone in her class (never mind all the parents at the recital) she freaked out and wouldn't do it. After much encouragement and practice at home, Grace was feeling pretty confident and she got up and spoke clearly into the microphone, saying her name and the titles of the songs she would be playing. We were so proud of her!

Here's Evan playing his songs. He did a great job too, despite feeling nervous the day of the recital. We weren't worried about Evan because he's usually a very confident guy, but he was actually more nervous than Grace was when it came time to go to the recital.

My Birthday

The night before my birthday, we had a chocolate fondue family night - lots of fun!

On my birthday we went to Ernie and Deb's house in Tsawassen for the traditional birthday dinner. This year it was Lindsay's 26th and my 33rd. It's not Alexis's birthday until July but she still got to be in the picture! :)

We had lots of fun visiting with Alexis.
It is obviously way past my bedtime right now because I can't seem to string a simple sentence together without great thought so I will have to do some more blogging another time.

Gotta love science world

Not much explanation needed here. We love going to science world. There are always so many cool things to do!

A special trip

Here I am again trying to play catch-up, and posting pictures that are from 2 months ago. Maybe one day I will get up to date and then it will be easier to blog because it won't feel like such an overwhelming task (which is the whole reason I stopped scrapbooking!)
Here are a few photos from a special trip that Rachel got to go on with her Grandma to Nana's house in Sechelt. The older kids have both had a chance to go on their own with Grandma before but this was Rachel's first time and she was so excited!

Reading her "Dick and Jane" books to Nana.

Posing with her stuffed animals and begging grandma to take another picture. :)

Grandma thought it was quite amusing and humoured Rachel by taking photo after photo of the animals as Rachel moved them around into different poses.
