A Wonderful Retreat

Ryan and I were blessed to be able to attend our church's marriage retreat at the beginning of the month. It was wonderful to spend some much needed time alone together talking and listening to each other in a beautiful, relaxing setting. We stayed at the Mark Centre, which is only a 15 minute drive from our home, but it felt like we were in a different world. We were totally spoiled with wonderful food (which we didn't have to cook or clean up after!!) and a lovely room in a retreat centre tucked away off the road so you wouldn't even know it's right in a large city. We got to go in the hot tub, play games with our friends, spend time walking and talking together, and listen to some very encouraging, inspiring speaking by none other than Dave and Nancy Collins. Those of you who have been a part of Heritage Alliance will know what a great couple they are. The only down side was that it was difficult to leave home, knowing that our kids were sick. But we were very grateful to Ryan's parents for coming down and taking care of them so that we could have this time away together. Thanks Mom and Dad!!

Aww, looks so fun and peaceful! I've always wanted to go to the Mark Centre, as it's run by the guy who started the TREK program I was part of (Steve Klassen). Maybe one day. Glad it was such a great retreat!
