Christmas production

These pictures didn't turn out great because it was too dark in the church but I had to post a couple anyway. They are from the Sunday school Christmas play that the kids in our church did on December 16.
Rachel's preschool class sang a couple of songs and dressed up in cute costumes and of course it didn't matter that only 2 or 3 kids actually sang or that the shepherds were stepping on each other. When preschoolers do anything on stage it is just so adorable. We were the typical paparazzi parents taking photos and video footage as our adorable daughter in her angel costume stood on the stage looking terrified and not saying a word. :)

After the preschoolers, the older kids got their turn to sing some songs and say some lines as part of a play called "Have and ADVENTurous Christmas." It was about celebrating advent and, while practicing for it, the kids learned a lot about the meaning of advent and the symbolism of the advent candles. So it was good in that way.
Grace, who is incredibly anxious about talking in public settings, did really well in all the rehearsals, singing the songs and saying her line. But when the time came for the actual performance and she saw how many people were in the sanctuary, she panicked and didn't want to do it. She did end up going on stage in the end but she hardly sang and Evan had to say her line for her. I had to post this picture even though it's so dark, so that you can see the grumpy expression she wore on her face through the whole time she was on stage. Oh well - she survived through it and as soon as she got off the stage, she vowed she would never do that again.
