Born to be a princess!

From the time Grace was very little, we have called her "Princess Grace." I used to say she was a little snob. Of course now I know that what I called snobbery was really an extreme shyness and anxiety. Grace is doing very well with her social anxiety but she is still very good at putting her nose in the air when she doesn't like something. :) Anyway . . .

The other day a friend of ours dropped off a bag of hand-me down clothes for the girls and in it was this gorgeous dress. Grace was immediately taken with the beautiful gown and talked about how she would wear it to church and to dress up as a princess but she would be careful not to eat in it or play outside in it. When she tried it on, it was like she really did change into a princess. She walked with her back straighter and her nose higher. She even spoke her words more clearly as though with a bit of an English accent. She chose Rachel as her favourite servant and dubbed me the cook. When Daddy got home from work, he was awarded the place of honour beside her at the dinner table because he was a brave knight who had been out slaying the dragon. :)
