Vacation Part One

This is part one of the promised pictures from our holidays, and it's going to be a really long post because I took tons and tons of pictures!
On Saturday, July 28, we got in our very full van at 5:00 in the morning and started out on our 8 hour drive to the beautiful Kootenay Lake. Ryan's Aunt and Uncle have a cabin there, where we spent the weekend visiting with them, as well as Ryan's parents and all his brothers and their families. We had a lovely, relaxing time and really enjoyed seeing everyone. I only wish we had been able to stay longer.
The kids spent most of the day on the beach, playing in the sand and swimming in the lake. It didn't seem to bother them that the lake is glacier fed and FREEZING cold!
Highlights of the trip were being on the beach together . . .
bathing together . . .
eating together . . .

just hanging out together . . .

jumping on the trampoline . . .

and of course, making smores!

Ursula took us on a little hike to the waterfalls. It was a beautiful hike and a nice way to escape the heat of the beach.

One of Evan's favourite things was riding on the tube behind the boat. Bella went with him for a little while and Grace took a turn too. I was worried that Grace would be scared but she had a blast and kept giving us the thumbs up to indicate that she wanted to go faster! :)

Even Rachel got a turn to ride on the tube - with Dad pulling instead of the boat.

Carter liked Sam's guitar playing so much, he decided to try too.

Izabella and Tia chilling on the deck.

Cool Carter, the surfer dude.

Sweet Rachel. She hardly wore her glasses when we were there because she was in and out of the water so often.

My lovely mother-in-law, Rosmarie.

Rae-Rae got lots of snuggles with her Granny.

I just had to put this picture in too. It's one I took on the trip home, from a look-out point over Osoyoos. It was so beautiful there. We'll have to plan to vacation there some time soon.

Well, that's it for that trip. I did manage to get out from behind the camera long enough to have some fun myself!

Stay tuned for episode 2 - Boundary Bay.
