Science World
On New Year's Day we went into Science World in Vancouver. We bought a family pass there this year and it has been well worth our money. There are always new things to do and see there. Of course the kids have favourites that they always want to do. Evan and Grace love to build with the giant rubber lego blocks. There is a model of a woman's uterus with a plastic baby there and Rachel absolutely loves the baby. This time she asked me if we could take the baby home!

We did a unit on the Human Body this Fall and it was really good hands-on review to touch the bones in the model skeleton and take out the stomach, liver, heart and brain of the model body, then put them back where they belong. Awesome, fun learning!

I LOVE SCIENCE WORLD! wow, what a blessing to be close enough to make trips there and enjoy the experience! I can just see the kids loving that place...and it would be awesome to enhance homeschooling with those hands on resources! cooool. :)

Christa - Great to see pix of the kids at Science World. Whenever we go to Vancouver, Jack insists on a trip to Science World - he still enjoys it and it is part of our family tradition. Maybe one of them will be a scientist though at the very least the love of life long learning is a definite bonus. The kids are older now and we saw the BodyWorlds exhibit last year. Fascinatingly creepy and drew Luke's 15 year old interest for a full 1.5 hours with many questions and comments. Entirely inappropriate for youngsters, intensely scientific though if you can get past the whole 'yes, these are real people' thing. We had a couple of physicians in our tour group and they were absolutely gob-smacked. It was an amazing privilege....but still pretty creepy. Terry Rachwalski....
Hi Terry,
So good to hear from you! It has been way too long since we had a visit with you. I can't believe that Luke is already 15! Maybe next time you guys come over for a science world trip, you can stop in at our place - we would love that!
Take care,
Christa
