Glad I'm Part of This Family!

When we got home from camping, we unpacked, did the laundry and repacked before heading off to Vernon. We had a great trip to Vernon, visiting with lots of awesome people but the main reason we went back was for a family reunion with Ryan's extended family. It wasn't just any family reunion though, it was in honour of the 25th anniversary of Grandma Rachwalski's death. The planning was in the works for a year and all but one cousin made it for at least part of the day. It was quite a party, let me tell you!
There was an abundance of wonderful people (close to 70!)

a bouncy castle,

games and relays!

Trying to eat sour candies without making a face. :P

My personal favourite game: spitting pumpkin seeds and trying to get them in the hula hoop. I was the champion!! I'm not sure who had the camera for this game, but I think it may have been Rachel, so these pictures are from her perspective. :)

There were plenty of opportunities for family group shots by the old barn.

A pinata for the little kids,

and one for the big kids too!

Grandma loved Hawaii so the day was a Hawaiian theme. At the end of the day, all the grandkids and great-grandkids helped to plant a tree in memory of Grandma Rach.

It was a long, fun day and by the end of it some were ready to keep on partying . . .

and most of us were exhausted! Yes Grace did fall asleep sitting up in the lawn chair in the midst of all those people!
